Trust the Blood Test (The Thing [1982] with Mat Johnson)

It's the 40th anniversary of John Carpenter's The Thing, and we're celebrating with a truly special episode. For our review of this horror classic, we're joined by special guest Mat Johnson. Mat has written amazing works in comics (Papa Midnite, Incognegro: A Graphic Mystery, Right State), in prose (Drop, Pym, Loving Day) and is now working on two upcoming tv series: Manhunt and The Fall of the House of Usher. Mat also has a brand new novel being released on June 28th titled Invisible Things, but most importantly for our podcast: Mat is a longtime fan of the Philadelphia 76ers!

This is a special movie to both us and Mat, and the resulting conversation is some of the most fun we've ever had on the pod. We really hope you enjoy the conversation, and we highly encourage you to check out Mat's work if you haven't already (links below).

And as always, thanks so much for listening!
