Beware the Autumn People (SOMETHING WICKED THIS WAY COMES [1983] feat. J.M. DeMatteis)

First of all, it is October... so Happy Halloween everyone! For last year's Halloween, we reviewed a movie that we think captures the Halloween spirit rather perfectly: THE MORTUARY COLLECTION. So this year, we're reviewing the cinematic adaptation of a book that does the same for the whole autumn season: SOMETHING WICKED THIS WAY COMES (1983)! Since this is an adaptation of material we've all read and loved here at the pod, we're doing this review a little differently: we'll discuss the original novel a bit (and Ray Bradbury as a whole) before moving onto the movie.

For a work that has influenced the lives of so many readers, it's so appropriate that we're joined by a special guest whose work has shaped the lives of our hosts: J.M. DeMatteis! We've mentioned his work on the pod before, but today Mr. DeMatteis is here to tell us about his new supernatural novella (THE EXCAVATOR) and the Kickstarter for THE DEMULTIVERSE, which will launch with four new first issues! We can't overstate how delightful it was to chat Ray Bradbury with Mr. DeMatteis, and we really hope everyone enjoys the episode.

After you've listened to the episode, check out these links for more details on THE DEMULTIVERSE:

And as always, thanks so much for listening!!
