In 1974 We Trust, 2006 Pays Cash (Black Christmas with guest Ed Brisson)

Happy Holidays! It's that time of year again, and unfortunately we were a bit short on time due to the scale of Episode 19 (the first part of our Nightmare on Elm Street retrospective). So although we didn't quite have enough time to put together a four-movie episode like last year, we wanted to get a minisode in before the holiday season was over. And what better movie to do than a bonafide horror classic?

For this year's holiday minisode, we're reviewing the original Black Christmas from 1974, and we're joined by a very special guest! Ed Brisson has written comics for both of the Big Two, and his work spans both superheroes (New Mutants, X-Force, Ghost Rider) and crime (The Violent, The Last Contract), but he's also a big fan of the horror genre. We'd been looking for an excuse to ask Ed to come on the pod for a while, so when we found out Black Christmas was a bit of a holiday tradition for him, we knew this was the perfect time!

We hope everyone enjoys the episode, but more importantly we hope everyone has a happy, healthy and safe holiday season, and we wish everyone the best in 2022. And as always, thanks so much for listening!!

You can check out Ed's website for more details on his work (and also pick up some comics from his shop!) at the link below:
